A Hampshire mental health training company is seeking £300,000 of corporate sponsorship, having pioneered a mindfulness application and two- day training programme proven to assist individuals dealing with anxiety, depression and stress, which will also be used to help some Team GB athletes and Paralympians prepare for London 2012.
Based in New Milton, former national grocery buyer turned palliative care practitioner Alison Bourne, managing director and founder of Colour Breathing Relaxation Technique (CBRT), is seeking a key corporate sponsor – or several smaller ones – for a spring sponsorship challenge, designed to launch CBRT nationally and connect with communities across the UK to provide additional mental health and wellbeing provision.
Bourne explained: “The sponsorship includes the provision of the two-day CBRT training programme and kits for 500 individuals right across the UK, with the goal of helping more than 40,000 people learn how to relax themselves naturally in our CBRT relaxation support sessions, using an awareness of colour,

“CBRT works with all age groups and has been recognised and used in both the education and mental health sectors since 2003,“ she continued. “Currently in preparation for NHS entry, proposed health and social reforms have included dialogue about needing a culture change towards mental health conditions. The relaxation support sessions will underpin this change and after 14 years’ R&D, CBRT is now gaining public, media and medical interest.“
CBRT will be supporting Team GB and Bourne has been put in contact
with performance programme managers who are in charge of individual sports: “This is a very exciting opportunity for CBRT and could provide our key sponsor with an unique national, and possibly international coverage, of the sponsorship challenge.“
With the Government keen to promote British innovation and entrepreneurship, CBRT is receiving excellent support from the national UK Trade and Investment team and the China Britain Business Council. Once established within the NHS, it intends to roll out national and interstate CBRT licences internationally within the next 12 months.
