The Artist proved that silence is golden at the 2012 Orange British Academy Film Awards by scooping seven glittering prizes
The big winner at this year’s BAFTA film awards held at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden was the beguiling French silent black and white film, The Artist.
The A-list stars shone, none more than Meryl Streep, who looked radiant in Vivienne Westwood, and who won the Best Actress gong for her incredible portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.
The designer frocks and jewels dazzled; the female fans went
mad for Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Colin Firth and John Hamm; and Stephen Fry, the host with the mostest, delighted the
star-studded audience with his erudite repartee.
Meryl Streep: thrilled with her BAFTA for Best Actress in The Iron Lady The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden: the magnificent venue for the 2012 Orange British Academy Film Awards
