him as the most handsome man on earth. George has been married, but says he’s a confirmed bachelor. But there’s always hope for a fan! He has his magnificent villa on Lake Como
and his palatial home in Los Angeles. He has a new blonde squeeze, a former wrestler, Stacey Kiebler, who at 6’ is slightly taller than him. He’s also the executive producer of the new
Matt Damon film, The Informant. I only met George once, on one of those
Press junkets, but that was enough to under- stand his image. He is nice, genuinely nice. He is handsome, seriously handsome, in that Cary Grant, grey-haired period, which only adds lustre to a young face.
And, hallelujah, he is totally without affectation!
He knows that he’s handsome, but doesn’t seem to use it.He believes he is a good actor, but doesn’t see the point in using that skill, unless it is in a way that does some good. He wants to play all roles, as actor, writer,
director or producer, and, in that sense, is aiming higher than the icons, who preceded him in the Hollywood Hall of Fame. Clooney is still young at 50, and believes
his best years are still to come. I genuinely hope so. He is a lovely man, a
life-enhancer, and could give us even more pleasure in the cinema over the next decade.
Looking like a 21st century Cary Grant at the Venice Film Festival
