6 BITS AND PIECES (Continued from page 1)

you’re already a member and obviously care about preserving and presenting Coronado’s history. But in order for us to do that work to the best of our abilities, we need more people like you behind us.

We hope you will be inspired to invite others to join you in supporting CHA this year. How about asking your friends and neighbors if they received the souvenir newspaper, and what they thought of it? Tell them you are a member and that you hope they will consider joining, too. If every one of you brought in just one more member — doubling the number of supporters — think of what more we could accomplish!

•The Coronado Tourism Improvement District (CTID) was launched July 18 with funding from a one-half percent assessment on gross room revenues from the Hotel del Coronado, the Glorietta Bay Inn, Loews Coronado Bay Resort and the Coronado Island Marriott Resort. The projected income for the first year of operation is $400-$500,000. A contract for $250,000 has been awarded to the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau for branding, marketing and public relations. The Coronado Visitor Center is collaborating with San Diego ConVis and a link to our website now appears on the corner of the website they have created for Coronado.

Special Offer from the San Diego Symphony!

In concert with our look back 100 years, the San Diego Symphony, which began performing in 1910, would like to offer CHA members tickets to select concerts at $10 off the normal price or symphony subscriptions for the upcoming season at half-price. Restrictions apply. For more information, please contact the CHA office, (619) 435-7242.
