TIME TO CELEBRATE
Saga cruisers in May will be able to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime celebration in the
Portuguese capital city of Lisbon when three Saga ships are in port at the same time
Portguese capital city of Lisbon. For the fi rst time, Saga Sapphire, Saga Ruby and Saga Pearl II will be in port together. It will also be the last time the three ships meet as three days later Saga Pearl II will be renamed Quest for Adventure and will set sail on her inaugural cruise. Guests will be free to visit all three Saga ships and will be invited to sample the facilities and restaurants aboard each.

Hosted by Captains David Warden- Owen, Alistair McLundie, Philip Rentell, Wesley Dunlop and Stephen Angove, this special event will welcome Saga Sapphire into the Saga family and bid a fond farewell to Saga Pearl II. The highlight will be a private concert in the Coliseu dos Recreios, one of the Portuguese capital’s top venues, featuring as its star guest Britain’s most popular soprano, Lesley Garrett. Back on board your ship, you can look forward to a gala dinner and evening entertainment. A spectacular fi reworks display over the city will start off a fantastic sailaway party as all three ships continue to their next ports of call. ›› All passengers on Saga Sapphire’s ‘Wonders of Iberia’ cruise; Saga Ruby’s ‘North African Wonders’ and Saga Pearl II’s ‘Farewell Cruise’ are invited to take part in this momentous event.

Star performer Lesley Garrett regularly appears in opera, concerts and on television. The Doncaster-born soprano, who trained at the Royal Academy of Music, joined the English National Opera in 1984, and has since forged a career around the world. As a recording artist, she has 11 solo CDs to her credit. She has won both critical acclaim and the affection of many fans and music lovers. Lesley has also made numerous appearances on television, where she hosted her own show, and appeared as a celebrity dancer on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Lesley was awarded a CBE in the 2002 New Year’s Honours List for services to music.
