I may be forced to pay back £ thousands Dear RAF FF. I am a physiotherapist on maternity leave and may be forced to pay back my entire maternity allowance when my husband is posted.


Local Authority Housing List Dear RAF FF. I am leaving the RAF and would like to be allocated Local Authority Housing. The Local Authority have been provided with a ‘Certificate of Cessation’ but is giving no urgency to our case.


Isolated Overseas Dear RAF FF. I have accompanied my husband on an overseas posting but feel isolated and don’t think the RAF is supporting me and my family well enough.

he Chairman of the RAF FF, has


given evidence to the House of Commons Defence Committee. The Inquiry explored the value Service personnel and their families place on Service- provided accommodation; condition and maintenance; aspirations for homeownership and barriers to the housing market, and some fascinating discussion about the ‘21st Century Family’. She drew on evidence provided by RAF serving personnel and their family members.


MOD SAVINGS ALLOW PURCHASE OF EXTRA C-17

he Prime Minister has said, “Because


the MoD’s finances are better run and managed, we will be able to purchase an additional C-17”.


CHANGES TO RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT SCHEME


T


he scheme provides help with the accommodation costs of learners aged 16+, who need to


live away from home to study. The MoD has addressed an existing unfairness and those serving overseas are now eligible.


BREAKS FOR BEREAVED FAMILIES


F


amilies’ Activity Breaks (FAB) is a non-public funded, tri Service initiative in partnership with the


YHA providing UK activity holidays. If your child is under 19 and has suffered the loss of a loved one serving in the Armed Forces, then this may be for you. The holidays offer an adventure, and a break, for all the family.
