The Safety Group is organised around a core team mainly consisting of the safety engineers of our worldwide franchises, but also of

safety for the Bergen tram (15 vehicles, 10km, 40 drivers) from the SMS managed by Dean Matthews in Melbourne (more than 400 vehicles, 250km, 1,200 drivers) or Anne Cosson in Lille (74km driverless metro line, 120 trainsets, more than 100 operators, and two other tram lines). But all three have the same responsibility which is to control and improve the level of safety for passenger service. The responsibilities regarding safety remain

in charge of the local franchise organisations managing the operations and maintenance for the PTA according to regional or national regulations and safety standards with which the system should comply. Our policy is to consider that safety is not at all the concern of only one person in the

and expertises, guidelines, evolution of the standards and legal obligations, training and conference feedback. These safety committees are really

important for all of us. The level of information shared is essential. Knowledge management, return on

experience, expertise, documents and reference are built and used to elaborate guidelines, best practices, training, and evolution of the organisation, keeping in mind one objective: to reach the highest level of safety. Also, collaboration with systems and

sub-systems providers, PTA, universities are developed to address tramway and metro safety topics to improve methods, maintenance operation or organisation of the operations.

the Group members and any relevant experts from Keolis to check if the organisation follows the local procedures, rules and manuals. For instance, Rennes metro organisation and Angers tramway operations have recently been reviewed. Technical expertise is also set-up when a
