FLORALL 2012 Florall Spring Fair

The Florall Spring Fair returns to Ghent with an emphasis on sustainability

The Florall Spring Fair will be held in Flanders Expo in Ghent on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 March 2012. Again, this is the ideal opportunity to admire and compare the range of products from more than 200 Belgian plant nurseries.

A

t the fair you will find a wide range of Belgian florist and tree nursery

products, cut flowers, wholesalers and suppliers. There will be a few foreign exhibitors as well. This makes Florall 2012 an ideal marketplace for buyers from garden centres, wholesalers, landscaping companies, exporters, purchasing organizations and managers of public parks and gardens.

SUSTAINABLE ORNAMENTAL PLANT CULTIVATION Attention will be focused on the theme ‘sustainability’ at the Spring Fair. In co-operation with Vlaams Milieuplan Sierteelt from VMS, established in 1997, the show will present a

sustainable horticulturist, who is self-sufficient enough to generate lighting for his own business. VMS will demonstrate this at the Florall Fair working together on a sustainable ornamental plant cultivation.

DELEGATIONS AND DEMONSTRATIONS Florall continues to grow in a positive way. Unlike many international fairs Florall still

remains a fair where firm business is concluded. In March we will welcome once again a delegation of growers from the Walloon provinces in Belgium (FWH) as well as a number of interesting production companies from the Netherlands. Suppliers will also give demonstrations at the Florall fair to show their latest products to the landscaping sector. We can also confirm that there is an increase in the number of

domestic and foreign exhibitors.

FLORALL AWARDS & CAFÉ The Florall awards will be presented on the evening of March 6 , which is also the start of the Florall Café networking moment. After all, a fair is and will always be a major forum for encounters, contacts, relations and business. Besides high- quality plants Belgium is also home to a particularly tasty range of Belgian beers. These are offered during the intimate Florall Café. The ceremony for the Florall Awards begins on the same evening at 7:45 p.m. Immediately following the ceremony there will be a musical ensemble, a cool Belgian pint and an intimate gathering of exhibitors and visitors.

LATE NIGHT OPENING HOURS The fair will open its doors on Tuesday 6 March at 1 p.m., but offers visitors the opportunity to visit the fair until 8 p.m. This late- evening opening grants all visitors the opportunity to visit the fair after they close their own shops or businesses. The fair is open on Wednesday 7 March from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The fair is a trade only event. Parking, catalogues and entrance are free. 
