thank you for coming. As well, we would like to show our ap- preciation to the many compa- nies and racers who support the show by exhibiting their prod- ucts, services and racing vehi- cles. Te show is at the level it’s at because the Canadian racing community has gotten behind it in a big way and we look for- ward to making it even bigger next year and beyond. We would specifically like to
(l to r) Mike Galipeau, David Weber, racers Dario Franchitti and Max Papis, and Greg MacPherson at last year’s show.
it’s showtime! O
n behalf of everyone as- sociated with the Cana-
dianMotorsports Expo Powered by Inside TrackMo- torsport News,we are proud and excited to welcome you to the 6th Annual CME. If you’ve been to the show in
the past, this year you will no- tice several exciting new things as you experience Canada’s na- tional racing show. First of all, while the CME remains at the International Centre, we’ve moved over to the larger Hall 6 in order to accommodate more racing vehicles and exhibitors in a setting that better presents all of the show’s participants. We’re also pleased with the
show’s new February date, which allows us to be a bit closer to the start of the Canadian rac- ing season and just one week be- fore Daytona 500 qualifying begins. More than ever before, the CME is truly where the Canadian racing season begins! While you’re at the show, we
welcome you to keep an eye on the schedule of events for the Mazda Stage and the Jones Brown Seminar Room. Since the show was founded, entertaining and informative forums, semi-
the 6th Annual Cme has something for everyone
nars, Q&As, autograph sessions and awards presentations have been a major part of the CME. And once again this year,
whether you’re interested in how you can get involved in racing or if you’re looking for world-class advice on how you can make you and your car per- form to its maximum potential, we have something for you. Another hallmark of the
CME are the celebrity racer ap- pearances. Tis year, we’re proud to present NASCAR star Carl Edwards on the Mazda Stage (noon to 1:40pm on Saturday, February 11). A former NASCAR champion, Edwards came within a hair of winning his first Sprint Cup title last fall. Last year’s IndyCar Rookie of
the Year, James Hinchcliffe – who was recently tabbed to re- place Danica Patrick in An- dretti Autosport’s
GoDaddy.com car – will be at the CME on Sunday afternoon (February 12). Legendary NASCAR team owner / engine builder Robert Yates, two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Randy Lajoie, Canada’s own road racing leg- end Ron Fellows, two-time

NASCAR Canadian Tire Series champion Scott Steckly and many others will take to the Mazda Stage during the three days of the show. See pages 10- 11 for a full listing of events. One aspect of this year’s
show that we’re very excited about is that the CME is poised to make more news than in any previous year. Mazda officials will take to the stage on Satur- day afternoon to announce an exciting new program that will benefit Canada’s grassroots road racers. Several other racers and companies are also expected to announce their plans for 2012 at the CME. Te Honda Indy Toronto will
host the first Canadian appear- ance of the new Dallara DW12 IndyCar. Canada’s Multimatic Motorsports will exhibit one of their exotic Aston Martin Van- tage racecars that recently de- buted at Daytona International Speedway, while AIM Au- tosports will display the stun- ning Ferrari 458 Italia GT Grand-Am car that participated in the Rolex 24. In closing, we hope you enjoy
your experiences at the Cana- dian Motorsports Expo. We

mention our major show spon- sors and supporters. Canadian Tire and Johnston Research & Performance ( JRP) have both made very significant contribu- tions to this year’s show. We welcome them to the CME family and we thank them for their participation. Mazda Canada is also a first-time CME show partner, presenting the Mazda Stage, an exciting booth and a free sponsorship seminar. Mazda Canada is using the CME to its maximum potential. NASCAR Canada has re-
turned as the presenting spon- sor of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s new #88 Diet Mountain Dew / Na- tional Guard Chevy Impala show car, while Canadian Motor Speedway is once again presenting Jeff Gordon’s #24 Drive To End Hunger Chevro- let Impala showcar in their booth. Te NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is also returning to the show, presenting Robert Yates and the series’ hauler / technical display. We thank these partners, as well as Jones Brown Motorsport Insurance (Exhibitor Hospitality Area & Seminar Room presenter), Dra-
gRaceCanada.com and Image-
Factor.ca for their assistance. Finally, we would also like to
thank the many volunteers and team members at Inside Track Communications whose efforts and support make the show possible. We hope you enjoy your time at the Canadian Motorsports Expo. •
