Terry Jones looking proud of his new ‘little piece’ of Gascony
I
f anybody managed to take a look at the on-line edition of this magazine, published last October, as a
precursor to what is now appearing in print. There was a feature on ‘black gold’ (truffles) and this included some information about the Truffle Tree operation run by Dick Pyle. At Truffle Tree you can adopt a truffle tree for yourself or as a very special gift for a friend.
At the time of going to press for the last edition, Dick was expecting a visit from an interesting ‘new-adopter’ but this was happening too late for details to be included. Just incase anyone has been waiting with baited breath - we can announce that the new adoptive owner of his very own Gascon truffle-tree is Terry Jones of Monty Python fame!
Terry was delighted to visit the region in September and is looking forward to a long and bountiful relationship with his tree.
To find out more about Dick’s truffle- tree adoption scheme you can visit the web site on

The next edition will be available in June 2012
