After a long academic year, Cliff plans his annual summer getaway — to Teen Week at New Life Island. “I became involved because the Lord used camp ministry in my life and in the lives of my children,” he said. Cliff enjoys watching God work in the students’ lives at New Life Island. “Camp is such a special experience for students,” said Cliff. “It’s a place where teens can put away all distractions and deal with the Lord on the important issues of life.”

As camp nurse, his job is to ensure that campers have a safe and healthy experience. For Cliff, this is also a time of personal refreshment and meeting with God. “I always come home from my week at camp energized,” he said. “If my schedule would allow, I would work at camp all summer!”

One of the first things nursing students at Cedarville learn is that nursing care is holistic, and patients have physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. As students prepare for on-site clinical experiences, faculty teach them to assess their patients’ needs at each of these dimensions, encouraging them to pray with their patients when appropriate. Cedarville’s nursing department has earned a long-standing reputation for excellence. The reputation persists because of faculty who remain committed to values like godly living, compassionate care, cultural sensitivity, and ministry for Jesus Christ. Students are listening and learning from their professors’ examples. And because of this, Cedarville graduates are in high demand.
