HAVE you thought about neighbourhood watch recently? Neighbourhood policing and what is happening in your area? At one time Neighbourhood watch schemes were in the news a lot but today it seems we don’t hear of them so much. They are still there and with local neighbourhood policing they can give a lot of local support. Today’s information age provides information about your area that really gives a local feel to policing in your area. Surrey, Kent and the Met police cover our area each with a slightly different style but
all areas have a local team that hold regular local meetings so you can either go online and look at what has been happening in your area or go along and meet the local police at one of the frequent meetings held to inform the public locally.
The Metropolitan police operate safer neighbourhood teams, In Bromley there are 23 local safer Neighbourhood teams all working on local issues and holding regular meetings. The Orpington team meet and offer one on one sessions in the Methodist Church, Sevenoaks Road, Orpington.

Kent police have eight Neighbourhood teams covering the Edenbridge area. The Edenbridge team meet in the local leisure centre. While in Surrey the Tandridge area has 10 Neighbourhood teams with the Oxted team favouring Oxted library. Meetings times vary locally.
