Honeywell Tool Eliminates Need to Manually Write Code when Integrating
Honeywell's latest software tool helps integrators
tie together commercial security technology into larger building automation systems. Using graphical programming, the Honeywell Software Development Kit (HSDK) eliminates the need to manually write code when designing integrated systems that tie security technology together with building systems
such as secondary fire, lighting and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). HSDK allows programs to be saved and replicated, saving integrators time by allowing them to repurpose existing code as appropriate. HSDK also ensures the integrated system will be compatible with future versions of Honeywell security technology and software releases.
New York Fire Stations and Municipals Secure With Panasonic Cameras
Hello Alert Inc., a Babylon, New York security systems dealer, has installed Panasonic video surveillance cameras throughout the state of New York in various municipal buildings, jails and approximately 50 fire houses in multiple jurisdictions on Long Island. Lorraine Roberts, president of Hello Alert, holds a NY state contract for security systems and solutions. A typical fire district where Roberts installs Panasonic cameras might encompass several fire stations, including a headquarters and multiple sub-stations that cover a certain geographic area. Local digital video recorders (DVRs) preserve video of whatever happens at the stations, and video signals routed back to headquarters enable operators to watch who is entering certain buildings or attempting a breakin. Camera views also allow operators to identify delivery people and "buzz" them in. Cameras provided by Panasonic System Networks Company of America include a new line of i-Pro SmartHD network cameras featuring high-definition (HD) image quality and exquisite color reproduction using lower bandwidth.
