IFSEC 2011: A world of security under one roof
IFSEC unites security professionals from an array of disciplines within the security sector and across the globe with leading industry experts, in the sharing of business-critical information and innovative game- changing technologies.
IFSEC is continuing to produce incomparable educational content by offering its free to attend, cutting edge, seminar programme, delivered by distinguished security figures. Following its successful introduction last year, the Intelligent Integration Zone, sponsored by Integrated Security Manufacturing Ltd (ISM), specialists in the manufacture and development of graphical security control management systems, returns for 2011. ISM together with its zone partners will be demonstrating how Genesys™, its own integration software, integrates perimeter protection, video surveillance, digital CCTV recording, access control, intruder alarms and alarm/call strips.
Specifically focusing on innovation, the Future of Security Competition, a brand new feature for IFSEC 2011 will aim to find the next generation security innovations. Run in association with Global Security Challenge, an organisation known for its impressive track record as a central hub for security innovators, start-ups, investors and events around the globe, competitors will compete against each other in a live judging session at IFSEC.
Typical of the IFSEC events, the extensive IFSEC 2011 conference programme promises to feature an educational and informative line-up. Comprised of a totally-revamped modular programme, experienced end- users and respected security professionals will share their insights into the industry best practice and the successful application of the latest technologies.
The series modules, aimed at security managers, directors and professionals have been designed to encourage networking and engagement in thought provoking debate. This exciting competition was opened up to researchers, innovators, universities and SMEs world wide. With entrants coming in from the UK, Australia, Canada, Israel and further afield, the 10 finalists will compete against each other in a Dragons Den style, session at IFSEC on Tuesday 17 May at 2pm in the SMT Select lounge - in an effort to find the next technological innovation that can be used to prevent, defend against, recover from or cope with any kind of terrorist incidents or other criminal acts.
Now in its 38th edition, IFSEC is the chosen destination for security professionals to sample the latest innovative technological developments and network with top-tier security professionals. Taking place from the 16-19 May at the NEC Birmingham UK, visitors from all disciplines within the security market can expect to indulge in exceptional educational content, to engage with key decision makers and industry experts, network with top- tier security professionals and sample the latest in technological developments at this premier industry event.

IFSEC 2011: Security matters
With an overarching focus on technology, IFSEC 2011 explores the development of the very best intelligent, converged, high-tech security solutions of the future, whilst delivering exceptional educational content that is second to none.

The IP Technologies module will include presentations from a number of industry professionals including:
Mr Ken Graham, Principal Consultant at Instrom - Ken will explain integration and the advantages of IP and what IP based systems mean for resilience and contingency planning
Mr Simon Whitehouse, Managing Director at SGW Security Consulting - Simon will discuss how to map a strategy that can leverage existing hardware whilst incorporating the latest IP based solutions, lessons learnt from previous legacy system control room convergence projects and moving towards an all-IP system in the long term.
Mr Mark Aertgeerts, IP Specialist at SNCB - Mark will focus on how to get the right collaborators and partners on board and how to develop intelligent features that will scale and offer flexible solutions for the medium to long-term.
In addition to the IP Technologies conference module, IFSEC along with Tavcom Training, will be explaining what IP is and how it can benefit organisations. Visitors to the Tavcom Training Theatre will be invited to learn about the latest advances in intruder alarms and access control regulations, including the legislation and standards that have been introduced to improve the industry.
