operations. Growing better pastures through new forage and grazing management strategies is the goal for the Arkansas Forage and Grass- land Council Conference Nov. 3. The conference will be held at the Agora Center,
705 E. Siebenmorgen Road in Conway beginning at 9 a.m. “We know this has been a tough time for live-

Unfortunately, volatility is here to stay and will be the name of the game for quite some time,” said Wesley Tucker, agriculture business specialist with University of Missouri Exten- sion. Tucker says each topic at this year’s confer-
ence have been individually selected based on the needs in the local area. “Through this conference we hope to provide
producers with practical management tips they can utilize to focus on improving the profitabil- ity of their operations,” said Tucker. “Anyone in southwest Missouri that’s interested in actually making money in the cattle business is welcome to attend.” Presentations will be given by Dr. Rob Kallen-
bach, state forage specialist with MU Exten- sion, on “Stretching Limited Hay Supplies.” Dr. Craig Payne, DVM and MU beef veterinary med- icine specialist, will give an update on the spread of “Trichomoniasis” and the state regu- lations for bull testing that took effect Sept. 1. Dr. Scott Brown will address the “Changing
Structure of the Beef Industry” and how $8 corn is going to change the way we market our cattle. Dr. Will McClain will be talk about “Can We Afford to Fertilize?” in the coming year. Senator Mike Parson and Representative Sue
Entlicher will be discussing “Legislative Issues Facing Animal Agriculture" in the near future. The cost for producers wanted to attend the
