Philadelphia School celebrated the completion a new entranceway


Work continues apace at the school’s new property at 2501 South Street, which will feature an Early Child- hood Center for preschool and kindergarten children, a multipurpose performing arts space, and green outdoor play spaces. The new facilities will be heated and cooled by geothermal energy.


Completion of the


South Street site is expected in time for the opening of the 2012-2013 school year, when the school will cel- ebrate the 40th anniversary of its founding. Completion of the library and additional classroom


improvements in the school’s current Lombard Street building is expected in time for the opening of the 2013-14 school year.


The Philadelphia School is a coeducational, non- sectarian independent school educating children from preschool through eighth grade.

n Thursday, October 6, The Philadelphia School celebrated the completion a new entranceway at 25th and Lombard Streets, the first phase of


campus improvements that will take place over the next few years. On hand for the celebration were State Senator Larry Farnese and City Councilman Jim Ken- ney.
