President Bush was going to present his Palestinian state plan to the U.N. General Assembly in late September 2001, but the terror events postponed that declaration until June 2002.
The enemy of Israel is now the enemy of the world. Our lives will never be the same.
Te Arabs of Palestine do not want to live next to Israel in peace and security. Te leadership of Fatah and Hamas refuse to acknowledge Israel as a Jewish State. Hamas is an Iranian proxy, while Iran speaks of wiping Israel off the map.
Moreover, U.S. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton played a very significant role in the collapse of the Mubarak government in Egypt, and they are calling for the ouster of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Both Mubarak and Assad had serious flaws, but Israel had relatively quiet borders during their political reigns. Now both their countries' political and economic futures are highly uncertain, and Israel is very concerned about their borders, not to mention Hezbollah's position on the Israel- Lebanese border.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom many love and appreciate, had his political coalition collapse and new elections called aſter he agreed to give up 13 percent of the land in Judea at Wye Plantation, Md., in October 1998.
Ariel Sharon, a later Israeli prime minister, whose disengagement plan forced 9,500 Jewish citizens out of their homes and off their land in August 2005, has been in a coma for more than five years since his massive stroke on January 4, 2006.
Today, Netanyahu is evaluating what land Israel will keep and what part of the land of Judea and Samaria will go to the Palestinians. Sources say that Netanyahu favors giving up most of Judea and Samaria—with Israel keeping six or seven percent of the land.
Despite Netanyahu's contingencies— that the Palestinians must accept Israel as a Jewish homeland and that a future
constitutes false peace and security. But the "political leſt" factions in Israel along with pressure from the United States, the EU, the U.N., and the Russians have been significant factors in bringing the process to its most dangerous period.
Te Vatican, the World Council of Churches, and the National Council of Churches have all established their position numerous times, and are even more outspoken today. Tey have called on President Obama to put more pressure on Israel to leave the "occupied land," instead of recognizing it as covenant Land.
Tere is an ever-increasing international atempt to delegitimize Israel, which is a byproduct of the flawed peace process. Some European countries are also calling for a boycot of products made in Judea and Samaria.
Te God of Israel is no respecter of men. He raises leaders and He also brings them down. Tose who have been responsible for dividing the covenant Land have paid an enormous personal and political price. Not a single leader or his/her nation has been exempted from experiencing the consequences of interfering with God's covenant Land.
Israel ofGod
Te leaders of the world and their nations are directly responsible for the danger Israel faces. And the leaders of Israel, hoping for peace and security, are also accountable.
Palestinian state must be demilitarized (both of which are impossible for them to agree to), the world has heard a sixth Israeli leader say he accepts a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria.
Netanyahu's 101-year-old father, Ben-Zion, and his brother, Dr. Iddo Netanyahu, know the special character of the Land of Israel and what
Puting this in further perspective, when you drive around Judea and Samaria, you see heavily secured Jewish communities. By contrast, the Palestinians' homes and communities aren't fortresses—most are without security because they don't fear having Jewish People break into their homes or communities.
Te Bible speaks of the final-day wars and the God of Israel's intervention for His People. We are very likely in those days now. Let's continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
Tis article was writen before the U.N. vote on a Palestinian state.
