the skin. I’ve been using this equipment in the last couple of weeks on myself and have been amazed by the transformation.” Each treatment session lasts around 20 minutes, and Royale Retreat is offering a 20-minute session at £20 as opposed to the usual price of £35. Lip Augmentation is increasing in popularity as a means of giving women a fuller pout. If you don’t want to fork out to go under the knife, however, there are plenty of great lip plumpers available (we love – see below). Many of these work by introducing a micro amount of collagen to your lips, causing them to swell – and the effects are temporary.
Make-Up
Tricks Make-up tricks are of course a great way to ensure you get the pout of your dreams, even if the look is an illusion. If you
want to make your lips look bigger, fi rst cover them with foundation, then blot away any excess. This will help disguise any imperfections and will give you a good, even base to apply your lipstick colour over. And because your natural lip line is covered, you’ll be able to create a new one. “To make your lips look fuller and plumper, add a touch of highlighter just above the upper lip and dab a little but to the centre of your bottom lip,” says Lucy Oldham owner of Blush Airbrushing (079 1789 0733 ). “Adding a touch of concealer around the outside corners of your mouth will give your lips more defi nition and make your lips appear fuller. To keep your lips in good condition exfoliate with a little bicarbonate soda and apply a moisturising lip balm to prevent moisture loss and keep lips hydrated and plump.” Kiss-kiss!

Blushed
Are you guilty of stuffi ng your handbag so full of beauty goodies that it looks...well, more than a little over-crowded? I love the Body Shops’ Lip and Cheek Stain, because it’s two fabulous beauty products in one – good news for anyone who’s economising, too. The dual-purpose liquid stain gives you a natural- looking glow that’s perfect for autumn, and looks equally effective on both lips and cheeks. Shim Shimmer
As the weather heads winter-ward it’s always a good idea to add some sparkle to your make- up – especially if you want to take a daytime look through to a more glamorous evening one. Bobbi Brown’s High Shimmer lip gloss is super sparkly and contins moisturising emollients and vitamins C and E, which will help to condition your lips during the harsh winter months. Ultra-girly Pink Sequin is my favourite of the great range of shades available. High Shimmer Lip Gloss, £17, by Bobbi Brown from Boots (01892 526486)
Plump it Up
If you’ve ever envied Angelina Jolie’s pout, we might just have found an affordable way for you to get your own. The makers of LipVolume by Transformulas claim it can increase your lip size by a whopping 40 per cent. Clinically proven to stimulate collagen production, giving you fuller, fi rmer lips, it’s available in Ice Cool, Chinese Peppermint and Chocolate fl avours. It looks like a gloss but feels like a balm, so is lovely to use. We found it effective. Now all we need is Brad... LipVolume, £29, by Transformulas from Fenwick (01892 516716)
