928 RAF MADE REDUNDANT


he 1st phase of redundancies announced on 1 Sep 11 saw 928 RAF personnel made redundant. Unfortunately, there


were insufficient volunteers and over 50% of the field were non- volunteers. Some volunteers were not selected because they were deemed too valuable to the Service.

relocation follows the decision to cease flying operations at RAF Lyneham by 30 Sep 11.

BFPO Addresses on Driving Licences


ome hire car companies are refusing customers


because they only have a BFPO address. The DVLA confirm that they now issue driving licences with a BFPO address on them and that this circumstance should not arise.


‘Pause’ to Housing Upgrades

Drains – Change of Ownership


he Government has announced that from 1 Oct 11, water and


sewerage companies in England and Wales will take over the ownership and maintenance of current private drainage systems. Those in SFA should continue to ring the MHS Helpdesk and they will contact the relevant company as appropriate.
