Intelligent Cities Conference City of Hamburg, home of Intelligent Cities Expo 2011

A Welcome from the Mayor of Hamburg

In an increasingly urbanised world, creating truly intelligent cities is essential – cities that are efficient, innovative and competitive. Urban infrastructure investments need to be smart, encompassing cutting edge technologies that allow cities to manage finite resources, combat climate change, achieve economic growth and improve the quality of life for their citizens.

The City of Hamburg, winner of the European Green Capital award for 2011, is proud to host the inaugural Intelligent Cities Expo on November 8th, 9th and 10th this year. Over 60 speakers from 17 countries have committed their time, expertise and experience to making this an important event for government officials, transport operators, utility companies, developers and investors.

I hope all attendees have a very productive and enjoyable time in Hamburg. Olaf Scholz

First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg
