4th Street Bar Association


NYTW prides itself on having a committed and passionate group of special patrons, The Society of Repeat Defenders. They play a central role in helping to cre- ate the innovative and ground- break ing theatre at NYTW that can’t be found anywhere else. This Season, Repeat Defenders were once again invited to exclu- sive behind-the-scenes events throughout the year that included pre-show cocktail receptions, fireside chats in the NYTW re- hearsal studio with the creative teams of our productions, pre- sentations of works-in-progress and an annual dinner with Artistic Director Jim Nicola and some of the Season’s artists.


The 4th Street Bar Association (4SBA) is a network of young professionals in their 20s and 30s who actively support the artistic vision of the theatre and raise the profile of NYTW among a new generation of audiences. 4SBA members attended NYTW pro- ductions, parties and exclusive special events that included: pre- and post-performance receptions with affiliated artists and NYTW staff, happy hours, an annual Summer Bar Crawl with 2010/11 Season artists, a wine tasting event at Moore Brothers Wine Company and a trip to see Colin Quinn’s Long Story Short.


NYTW’s annual benefit, Monday at the Plaza with James, was held on May 23, 2011 at The Grand Ballroom of The Plaza Hotel and celebrated the achievements of James Lapine, Tony Award-winning playwright/ director/designer. The evening began with a cocktail reception followed by dinner and perfor- mances by Mandy Patinkin, Vanessa Williams, Debra Monk and Claudia Shear among many others.
