A Healthy School

Bishop Douglass School is proud to have been awarded Healthy Schools Status. We encourage our students to develop healthy lifestyles to ensure their physical and emotional well-being. We educate students to make the right life choices.

We provide two hours of physical education lessons for all students and a wide range of lunch time and after-school activities. Our fitness room is equipped to the highest standard and provides a unique opportunity for regular exercise. In addition, we have a dance studio and gym, sports hall and all- weather games area, a grass football pitch and athletics field. We run a full range of team sports competing with other schools in Barnet.

Healthy balanced meals are provided at lunchtimes. The choices are extensive and cater for the needs of our diverse community. Fizzy drinks, chocolate or crisps are actively discouraged.

School Uniform

We have a strict uniform policy which all students must adhere to. Students are expected to wear their uniform with pride.

Precise uniform details can be found at: www.bishopdouglass.barnet.sch.uk Behaviour Expectations

We believe in positive behaviour management and have high expectations of every student at the school. Discipline is good. Our Code of Conduct is applied consistently and we believe rewards should outweigh sanctions. There is a strong merit system which facilitates this policy. Classroom behaviour is based on respect for all learners.
