2012 Parking Industry Exhibition Slated for March 18-21 in Chicago
The 2012 Parking Industry Exhibition (PIE) has been scheduled forMarch
18-21 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare hotel and conference center in Chicago. Sponsored by Parking Today magazine, the event is expected to attract more than 100 exhibitors, host nearly 1,000 attendees, and feature informational ses- sions fromall aspects of parking. New for 2012, according to Andy Van Horn, PIE Conference CEO, will be
an association with the National Parking Association (NPA). “The NPAis pro- viding content for some of the presentations, allowing us to provide in-depth expertise fromthe private operator perspective,” Van Horn said. The program will feature PIE’s “Boot Camp,” a session devoted to those
newto the parking industry, preparing themto attend higher-level seminars lat- er in the week. The overall theme will focus on the public sector, with the con- cerns ofmunicipalities, universities and airports headlining the presentations. “Technology is important,” Van Horn said, “but the issues of revenue,
interaction with the public, and policy concerns will be featured. PIE is known for the quality of its speakers and seminars, 2012will be no different.” The exhibition area will be its normal “boutique style,” with exhibitors
stressing less on equipment and more on interaction with attendees. Lounge areas will be provided, so discussions concerning each area of parking – pri- vate sector, municipal, airport, university, etc. – can be held and exhibitors can join in. For more information, go to PT’s website (
