CLONED MOOR SOLARES

TWO TRICK HORSE

New Jersey instrumental duo Cloned Moor Solares create flurries of intricate melodies but they can still rock out ferociously at times and never forsake musicality for sheer noise (though their more aggressive outings are very welcome here, too). With two EP s available on their Bandcamp page – namely the Lunar and Solar EP Live Sessions – there’s enough material here to wade through before they emerge with something more to get our teeth into. http://clonedmoorsolares.bandcamp.com

Putting yourself alongside Fugazi, Sonic Youth and Medications is a brave statement. However, this guitar and drums duo from Leeds display their influences via the start-stop, jerky moments which many people associate with those bands. Their four-track mini EP features spacious instrumental ,Horsepower, alongside bursts of heavier activity. While not completely engaging, there’s enough potential and talent here to expect some exciting stuff in the near future.

JON WHITE HAS DELIVERED AN ACCOMPLISHED AND INTRIGUING DEBUT…

THE JESUS LOVES HEROIN BAND

Pulling no punches with the name, this Sheffield lot are reminiscent of the excellent Murder By Death. Taking the violin-laden garage/country knuckleduster and delivering fine, desperate, jailbreak songs TJLHB are not original but they are entertaining. That dark, Nuggets-nodding psychedelic approach is best summed up with their latest video and track I Don’t Need Revenge, whose scratchy black and white footage stirs up the right mood for their dense, yelping sound. Their second album Revenge is due out now and can be bought from the band’s blog at http://thejesuslovesheroinband. blogspot.com.
