Sing-along with the mayor
TEIGNMOUTH’S Alice Cross Centre rocked to the rhythms of the singing mayor, Cllr Ian Parkes, when he popped in for a sing-song. ‘We had a huge turn out, and he sang many of our favourite songs. Some of the ladies were dancing, and a fun time was had by all,’ said centre manager Julia Street. Cllr Parkes also presented basic food safety course certificates to some of the kitchen staff, including Sophie Copelletti and Shirley

BONNET PARADE EASTER FAIR HIGHLIGHT
CHILDREN and parents had a great time when a village staged its annual Easter bonnet parade. About 30 Bishopsteignton youngsters aged from three to six took part in the fun, and also enjoyed making their outfits with help from mums.
It was the highlight of the Bishopsteignton Fair at the community centre, which raised
about £1,000 for funds. Lisa Kendell, of the committee, praised
organisers Vicky Brown and Rebecca Jones for their efforts in making it such a success, and added: ‘It was a brilliant day. We had all sorts of events, including face painting and a bouncy castle, and local businesses helped with generous donations.’
