What kind of films and genres are you interested in? We are particularly interested in works travelling into a sort of hybrid space, that strange gap between narrative and reality, between fiction and life. A place I personally love, a place where maybe only a movie can bring you.
What do you want to get out of PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE and Cannes this year? I hope to meet creative producers and financial partners sharing our vision of cinema and open to building co-production experiences. All the main projects we are working on at the moment are meant to be international co-productions. I also wish to find new inspiring and exciting projects, to fall in love with …
What do you think are the main challenges facing the European film industry over the next five years - and how can we meet them? The main challenge for cinema nowadays is to resist the homologation of languages, genres and formats that TV models and distribution constrains tend to impose. I think that the only possible reply to all these threats is to exploit the potential of the new global market, trying to produce films able to travel beyond the borders and convey universal stories, witnesses, values, questions …

In 2009, Darko co-founded the production company Punk Film with writer-director Vladimir Blazevski and served as executive producer on Blazevski‘s black comedy Punk‘s Not Dead. He was also a co-producer of Andrej Kosak‘s black comedy The State of Shock, which is currently in post- production, and is now developing a new feature project Foster Pride (working title) at the EAVE workshop.
What kind of films and genres are you interested in? I have always found this question to be one of the hardest. It really depends on many factors: script, the director‘s vision, circumstances, and partners. We basically prefer author films, but ones that are “easy to swallow“ and not too heavily “packaged“ so that the audience doesn‘t feel confused or even worse...
What do you want to get out of PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE and Cannes this year? To meet my future friends and/or collaborators.
What do you think are the main challenges facing the European film industry over the next five years - and how can we meet them? Recently, we have seen some really good fresh stories and movies from countries that don‘t have that well developed cinematographies. It gives me a certain optimism since I also come from such a country. Collaboration is the right way. And the only way.

What kind of films and genres are you interested in? We are interested in any genre with the caveat that projects meet a certain level of quality and commercial potential.
What do you want to get out of PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE and Cannes this year? We hope to further develop our relationships with companies and individuals from other EU and foreign countries. These relationships will hopefully generate healthy partnerships on future endeavors.
What do you think are the main challenges facing the European film industry over the next five years - and how can we meet them? The main challenge facing any project will be the ability to combine equity financing with culturally defined soft money regulations. As the global economic struggle continues, the financing strategies become more and more complex with the addition of more and more partnerships to fulfill any film‘s negative costs. Creating a diverse network of partners within the EU will help streamline and clarify the potential of any available financing methods. PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE helps in this regard.
