This is a worthwhile read for the beginning founder, if you wish to try small scale bronze casting on your own.
The book
illustrates the ceramic shell casting method, using the traditional lost wax technique. It demonstrates wax working, mold making, furnace making, casting, and patination – all on a small economical scale.
Although this publication does not have the slick appearance of more pricey publications, it would be worthwhile for the first-time caster to purchase. All equipment mentioned in the book is relatively accessible and inexpensive.
The process is described in a step by step fashion, easily achieved by the first-timer. Included in the back of this publication is a very substantial appendix, listing stores and suppliers who sell the necessary products required for all of the processes detailed in the book.
