The Rose Bowl hosts first showcase event
On April 6, from 4pm to 6pm, The Rose Bowl is hosting its first- ever showcase event. The aim is to welcome businessmen and women, cricket fans and music lovers from across the south through its doors, taking guests on a ’behind the scenes’ tour of the facilities and giving a flavour of all the venue has to offer.
The Executive Club, Christmas party festivities, hospitality suites and the state-of-the-art media centre will all be on show. Guests will be treated to some of the finest food on offer at the venue and will have the opportunity to meet a selection of Hampshire cricket players and key members of staff.
The evening will conclude with a presentation from Hampshire cricket chairman, Rod Bransgrove, offering a valuable insight into the year ahead. There will also be an introduction to The Rose Bowl’s new corporate hospitality partners Keith Prowse who will be on hand to advise on entertaining options for clients and staff.
This invitation is open to the public and interested parties should pre- register by email. See details at the end of this article.

editorial@elcot.co.uk THE BUSINESS MAGAZINE – SOLENT & SOUTH CENTRAL – APRIL 2011
The Rose Bowl has been home to Hampshire Cricket since 2000 when the club moved from its old ground in Northlands Road, Southampton.
In 2006 the venue was awarded Test-match status by the ECB and, at the same time, announced a £45 million development plan to turn the ground into one the best cricket and entertainment venues in the world.
The first stage of this project was completed last year, when two new stands were constructed, increasing the stadium’s permanent capacity to 15,000 with three covered stands.
In 2011 the venue hosts the first- ever Test match on the south coast as England takes on Sri Lanka in the npower Test series in June.
Now a multi-purpose venue providing facilities for year- round entertainment including conferences, weddings, Christmas and New Year parties, private- dining celebrations and exhibitions, The Rose Bowl provides an ideal setting for all occasions.
This year the focus turns to the construction of a four-star 175-bedroom hotel to be built at the northern end of the ground .
