SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE ATTENDS THE YMCA GENERAL ASSEMBLY
ASSOCIATION OF YMCA PROFESSIONALS (AYP) CHAPTER 3 VISITS CAMPUS

On July 7-11, a group of Springfield College representatives attended the YMCA of the USA General Assembly in Salt Lake City. Te meeting, which takes place every three years, brings together Y professional staff and volunteers from the 2,700 Ys across the country. Tey discuss national social issues, the mission and purpose of the organization, and the future direction of the movement. Tis year, President Richard B. Flynn announced the highly anticipated opening of the new Stitzer YMCA Center including the revamped YMCA Hall of Fame, the new offices for the Association of YMCA Professionals (AYP), the YMCA Club Room, the new location of the Springfield College Office of YMCA Relations, and a YMCA of the USA staff office.

On Tuesday, Oct. 5, the Association of YMCA Professionals (AYP) Chapter 3 held their first meeting of the 2010-11 year in the YMCA Multipurpose Room within the newly renovated Stitzer YMCA Center. Visiting YMCA professionals from Ys in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and western Massachusetts
AYP OFFICES MOVE TO SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE CAMPUS
In September, the Association of YMCA Professionals (AYP) corporate offices moved into the Stitzer YMCA Center. AYP Executive Director and CEO Donna Dunn was thrilled to be moving to the historic Springfield College campus as part of the newly renovated Stitzer YMCA Center. Te move will enable them to have a closer working relationship with YMCA employees and retirees. Joining her on staff are Lauren Anderson, responsible for chapter and member programs, and Lindsey Lerit, responsible for communications and digital media.

were impressed with the new facilities, which support students pursuing a YMCA career upon graduation. Speakers included Director of YMCA Relations Harry Rock, Executive Director of AYP Donna Dunn, and YMCA of the USA Northeast Senior Resource Director Andrew Roberts.

INTERNATIONAL COALITION OF YMCA UNIVERSITIES VISIT SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE
On June 1-3, the International Coalition of YMCA Universities held their annual meeting on the Springfield College campus. In attendance were representatives from Brazil, England, Germany, India, Mexico, and Uruguay. In addition to their meetings, visitors were invited to a dinner with President Richard B. Flynn and a cookout with Dean of the School of Human Services Robert Willy. Willey was elected as chair of the Coalition for the 2010-11 year with their next annual meeting being planned in London at the YMCA George Williams College.
