Here’s hoping you were well undercover for the latest in snow storms. The only good thing I can see about it, was that Willie didn’t see his shadow. So here is to an early spring, and getting our NBHA horse shows under way.


We are having some great shows this


year. Starting the year off right, with our three big ones! These are the Spring Thaw being held May 6-8 at Ancaster Fair Grounds. Don’t forget that’s our silent auc- tion show, so look around for something to put on the table. Its always a great time. Then our July 1st Canada Day show July 1- 3 at Paris Fair Grounds, tentatively. Of course our Grand Finale: the Eastern Cana- dian Finals this year being held on the long weekend September 2-4 at Ancaster Fair- grounds. These shows will be great. Lots of prize money, lots of fun, and some new twists on some classes. We are also very excited to have booked a photographer for all three of the shows. I will also include a list of shows for each district, some old favorites are back and some new ones are being added! Already, with so much snow still on the ground we have OVER 25 SHOWS BOOKED!!!! There are still more to come!!! We also have clinic information posted on there, both for the NBHA spon- sored clinic with Troy Crumrine, which is being held April 30 and May 1 with a meet and greet with Troy on the Friday night. CONGRATULATIONS TO NBHA CANADA COMPETITOR EDWIN CAMERON


Edwin Cameron and Bahama Bully win the Holiday Classic held in Mississippi just before Christmas. That win has earned him the cover page of the Barrel Horse News. Edwin and Bahama Bully were second in the 1-D in race 1 with a 14.622. They were 5th in race 2 with a 14.603, and that earned the pair the average win. Edwin and Bahama Bully also were the senior winners of the 1-D with a 14.603. More information on the show and placings of the Canadians that were there can be found in the Barrel Horse News.


SNOW MUCH FUN!


thankful for the snowy winter this year making the event a success.


horses were tacked up and ready to “amuse the humans” grace- fully pulling the sleighs that made countless trips around the snow filled property loaded up with rosy cheeked passengers. It was hard for adults to just stand by and let the youngsters have all the fun — and with that said, all tobogganers were hav- ing a blast going down the hills!

Back at camp, keeping your tootsies warm was not a prob- lem with the roaring fire and roasting of hot dogs and marsh- mallows. All in all, crisp winter white backing the breathtaking sight of horses pulling sleighs makes for glorious outings in the cold months...this was a great outing!


GFHC - 7th Annual Fundraising Dance that will be held on March 5th. The theme for the evening is “CRUISE NIGHT”


Worth noting is the


hosted at the Royal Canadian Legion, 9 King St. E. in Mill- brook. Dancing starts at 8:00 p.m. and will go on until 1:00 a.m. Light food fare, raffle, silent auction and of course - door prizes - will make for a fun evening!
