Style of the Month

Phase Eight. Elsie necklace, £20, Jumper Dress, £79

The shops are full of teddies clutching red hearts, the price of roses has tripled and jewellers are looking smug.

Valentine’s Day may be verging on the tacky, but, like Halloween, the day is increasingly difficult to ignore. And as it is a rather nice excuse to get dressed up for a good old-fashioned date with your partner, we’re not complaining. In this office we see Valentine’s Day as the perfect opportunity for being girly, but that doesn’t have to mean dresses and high heels are the only option (although A|Wear has a floaty, dusky pink dress that we adore). New Look has some fabulous light pink trousers that combine with a lace top and some

stonking boots for a very cool, sexy look. Smart, skinny jeans are another way to show off your pins – try Primark for high-waisted jeans that won’t break the bank, and match them with a pair of Bertie’s suede, knee-high boots and a pretty blue top from Phase Eight.

For added spice we highly recommend investing in some luscious underwear, and then finish off the look with Valentine’s inspired jewellery. There are plenty of gorgeous heart pieces around – we desperately want the stunning crystal necklace from

Talullah Tu and the sweet heart charm bracelet from Yogoego.
