Glenn “Sonny” Cox, Arkansas County


Judge: “Te only way you can know the answers is to be involved in the Association (of Arkan- sas Counties) and the County Judges Associa- tion. Tere’s a lot more to County Judge than roads, bridges and drainage,” he said, such as OEM, 911, buildings and grounds, court cases on land-locked issues, and on and on. “Each and every day, you will learn new things – un- less you close your mind.” He concluded, “Let’s bring back trust in government. Tis is where the rubber meets the road; we can do a lot to restore trust that’s been lost at the state and na- tional levels.”


Jimmy Hart, Conway County: “You are a facilitator!” he said, noting with a smile that he’s only been threatened with bodily harm once in his tenure. “You have got to let people have the privilege to vent. And I agree with the others, being County Judge is a team effort with other elected officials in the courthouse.” “You’ll get lots of calls... but remember, if you


have to wonder whether to do it, if it’s the right thing... just hold off.”


Chris Villines, AAC Executive Director, extended his best wishes, along with a cordial invitation: “We’ll do all we can to help you, and we’ll be your home away from home when you’re down here at the Capitol,” he promised.
