U.S. ParkingMarket HE PARKARE GROUP, HEADQUAR- tered in Barcelona, Spain, has begun to focus on the U.S. parking equipment mar-


ket. Launching its effort this year at the IPI show in Denver, the company hopes to eventually have a big presence in theworld’s largest parkingmarketplace.

Parkare has a global presence, with more than three


decades of serving the parking marketplace in Europe, the Middle East, SouthAmerica andAsia. This will be its first entry into the U.S. The group consists of three companies –Mabyc, Iberse-


gur andAlfia – and carries a complete portfolio of on- and off- street parking, including parking automation systems, auto- matic car guidance systems and pay-and-display equipment. GroupManaging Director Santiago Font told Parking


Today that his company is committed to theU.S.marketplace. Thismonth, Parkare is expected to announce its NorthAmer- icanmanagement teamand the final selection of itsU.S.man- ufacturing facility, Font said. “We are committed to providing the best local support


and service for our products here in the U.S.,” he said. “That means a U.S.management teamandmanufacturing. “The U.S. market is one of the most vibrant,” Font said,


“andwe feel that our product line – covering both on- and off- street products – fits perfectly with the needs of themarket. “Mabyc-Ibersegur’s recent purchase of UK-basedAlfia


gives us a complete high-end line of revenue control equip- ment,” he said. “The launch of the Parkare Group at the IPI means that


we are committed not only to quality products and service, but also to the U.S. parking industry,” Font said.
