Ann Arbor Adds Credit Card Payments, Scanners to CDI Handhelds
ComplusData Innovations (CDI)
recently installed Casio IT-3100 handheld ticket writers with integrat- ed magnetic card readers to accept credit card payments for tow-eligible vehicles inAnnArbor,MI. This feature enables city parking
enforcement officers to process delin- quent ticket payments for tow-eligible vehicles in the field. Customers with four or more unpaid parking tickets and eligible to be towed can now pay with a credit card on a PEO’s hand- held through the attached magnetic card
reader. The customer can sign for the payment on the handheld’s touch screen and receive a printed receipt. The city also uses CDI’s indus-
try-first interface with Digital Pay- ment Technologies’ pay-by-space meters, allowing officers to toggle between pay-by-space information, ticket issuance and credit card pay- ments all on the same Casio hand- held device.

CDI also now offers clients in
Massachusetts the ability to scan vehi- cle inspection stickers using CDI pro- prietary software with their handheld ticket writers. This allows the PEO to gather vehicle information for parking ticket issuance quickly and more effi- ciently. Clients benefit by eliminating data entry and keypunch errors during data capture. In addition, a client’s PEOswill becomemore productive as less time is needed during the citation issuance process.
