We Do LinesMakes itsMark on Parking Lot Striping Business Chris Couri, Craig Lenahan, Dan

Rella and Tom Darrow teamed up to launch We Do Lines, their parking lot striping franchise-brainchild, based in Ridgefield, CT. “There’s not one national parking

lot striping company out there,” said company President Couri, noting there are an estimated 50 million parking

spaces with a roughly $29 billion U.S. market. “For a service with such high demand, we have created a concept that is efficient, reliable, eco-friendly and socially responsible.” In February 2008, the four noted

that though they came from different industries, their match culturally paved the idea to redefine a broken and rough

striping business with top-tier cus- tomer service and attention to detail. WeDo Lines plans to expand national- ly, with a goal of reaching the 100-unit mark within three years, they said. CIO/Business Development

Director Lenahan said the company’s services “deliver a safer, more func- tional and overall improved parking area. ... (Using) a combination of state- of-the-art technology, a proprietary intranet system, and factory-trained professionals, we are able to establish new levels of service.” The We Do Lines team hired

franchise veteran Skip Barrett, who co-founded GarageTek. “I have seen a lot of franchise concepts, but none with the potential of this one,” he said. Barrett was instrumental in all aspects of the startup, from business model conception and sales training procedures to marketing strategies, franchisee recruitment and awarding of franchises. “We built this business from

scratch and have gotten to know every element involved in the successful exe- cution of (striping) jobs, from initial call to follow-up survey, Operational Director Rella said. The company’s startup in Ridge-

field has gained a reputation of pro- viding quality work, professionalism and accountability, the co-founders said. That stems largely, they said, from the company’s proprietary infra- structure and push toward its “Stripe Green Initiative,” as it uses low-VOC (volatile organic compound) products when striping. “Our flagship operation proved to

be the perfect test of our franchise concept,” Operational Director Dar- row said. “We streamlined our processes to be as efficient as possi- ble, and we’ve put a priority on help- ing franchisees begin operating confi- dently and quickly.” “The parking lot is your corporate

welcome mat,” Couri said. “Having it properly laid out, clean and striped to code has a multitude of advantages. ... Our goal is to educate our target audi- ence – anyone having to do with the management or administration of any parking area – on all the benefitsWe Do Lines can provide.”
