more. “We will have about 1,200 peo-
ple come through on Tanksgiv- ing weekend. It will be busy from now until we close the week be- fore Christmas,” said owner June Hawkins.
Sandy Hollar Tree Farm is a true
working farm. Hawkins, along with her husband, Curtis, and son, Dale, run the farm. “We not only sell Christmas trees
but llamas, goats, cattle and produce as well,” she said. Most of the items
sold in the shop are made from the farm, such as the wool to create the hats, gloves and scarves. “I shear, spin, weave and dye my own wool. I work year round making things for the shop,” she added. Te farm is located in the Sandy
Mush valley off Early’s Mountain Road on Sandy Hollar Lane. Te tree farm will be open through Dec. 18. Te activities are offered only on weekends. Call during the week to make sure someone will be available at 683-3645.
