First Student driver Wesley Tate drove NFL players and kids in St. Louis during the taping of a public service announcement on a new anti-obesity campaign.
Pro football fans have likely seen televi-
sion commercials air on “Play 60,” a program developed by the NFL and the United Way that encourages children to fight obesity by getting at least an hour of exercise a day. Yellow school buses played an integral role in taping the commercials, which depict football players as they visit local schools in Cincinnati, Chicago, St. Louis and Boston. First Student participated in the filming at the St. Louis and Boston locations, ferrying NFL players, coaches and kids to the playing fields. Te school buses can be seen in the background as players and kids go through football drills. Te commercials began airing during NFL telecasts on Tanksgiving.
OSHA released its Top 10 workplace
safety citations last fall and found that employers failing to communicate to em- ployees about hazardous chemicals led the list. Te regulation, 29 CRF 1910.1200, states that workplaces using hazardous chemicals must develop a comprehensive hazard communication program to notify employees of any and all health risks. Allison Transmission announced last
month that its 2011 lineup will feature up- grades to avoid slippage and to increase fuel efficiency. Te 1000/2000 PTS uti- lized by smaller school buses will include an Increased Torque Converter Lockup to connect the transmission directly with the engine output similar to a regular clutch system.
