ALLIANZ MUSICAL INSURANCE PROVIDING A PLATFORM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION

At Allianz Musical Insurance we are avid supporters of musicians and believe it’s important to give upcoming acts an avenue to get the recognition they deserve.

As the largest musical insurer in the UK, our role is to make sure you’re onstage to do what you do best. But we’re not just about protecting your instruments if they are lost, stolen or broken; we’re also devoted to developing the UK’s musicians of the future.

We work closely with a number of musical organisations, who focus on improving the range of opportunities available to young people interested in music. These organisations include Musicians’ Union, the International Guitar Foundation and the Music for Youth’s National Festival.

When it comes to insuring your instruments we are specialists – we understand the music industry and your specific needs. Our PowerPlay policy is specifically designed to cover all forms of ‘powered’ instruments, from electric guitars to synthesizers and digital production tools, as well as drum kits, making it the perfect cover for individual musicians, bands or DJs.

ANCIENT SHORES

Throttling good vibes with their savagery, Ancient Shores build upon the noisier post-hardcore sounds of Converge and Snapcase with the brutality of metal and vocals born from furnaces. Though the pace is relentless, there is a certain love of texture and sonics that stops it becoming generic heavy-core. There’s a lot that is indebted to other bands, naturally, but this free LP (The Black Engulfs Our Sun) still provides a real surge of adrenaline- tapping aggression. www.stereokiller.com/ancientshores

YAKBONE

More spindly minimal action, this time from London-based artist Yakbone. Here he composes shimmering, almost soundtrack- esque explorations that are gentle, swelling and low key. There are moments of simplicity blended by a moods and atmospheres that remain wordless though no less eloquent for it. Everything is carefully balanced against its nearest cousin, silence, so as to allow breathing room and an anxious, nervous air to absorb. www.myspace.com/yakbone
