us. We awaken consciousness when we make the choice to live up to our highest potential. Below are fi ve easy steps that we all can take to assist us in awakening our consciousness and enjoying our lives.

Just Say Yes! As so eloquently stated in his book, Spiritual Liberation, Mi-

chael Bernard Beckwith states, “When you say ‘yes’ to authentically being who you are, your purpose reveals itself in language your heart can understand. Then, instead of operating from cun- ningness and manipulating the world around you, you navigate life from your identifi cation with First Cause, your Source. As you begin to touch who and what you really are, you participate in the art of real living.” This is the fi rst step in awakening consciousness that teaches you how to expand your con- sciousness by saying “yes” to the call to share your time, talent and energy. Say “yes” to cultivating a healthy

body temple so that you can function at your very best. This is easily and effortlessly achieved by eating the way our ancestors ate; that is, as close to the earth as possible. Eat whole foods rather than processed foods and consume nothing that has a face. Drink pure water, exercise daily, and take appropriate supplements. Add adequate rest and light and trust that we really do live in a friendly universe that wants to support you.

Trust the Process. According to Terry Cole-Whittaker, “There is a di- vine order to everything. No new order needs to be invented by anyone. What is needed is an understanding of how the divine order works.”

Meditate. “Meditation is the most effi cient transportation to inner

transformation,” states Michael Bernard

n order to awaken our conscious- ness, we must do the inner work to activate that which is asleep in

Beckwith. Recent studies have shown that a daily practice of meditation regulates blood pressure, reduces the risk of Al- zheimer’s, and is supportive in maintain- ing proper weight, to name a few of the many benefi ts derived from meditation.

Listen. Sit in the silence and just listen. Listen to your inner wisdom that will become clearer as you deepen your daily spiritual practice. Making decisions and choices will become easy and effortless when you take the time to simply do nothing, expect no results, and don’t even think about the outcome. Just listen.
