POSH PLANTS… THIS CHRISTMAS?

Written by Sue Huckle

‘Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat’… well, my three geriatrics simply continue to shriek at any approaching postman, dog or wild rabbit! They are my security pets; however, they usually have one eye on my legs and the other on my stock of beloved Posh Plants. They are, therefore, penned up and reminded daily how different their lives could be if I wasn’t so fond of Norfolk Blacks!

It seems like only six weeks ago that I was packing away the decorations. Now it’s a test of mental strength and endurance to turn left instead of right when coming down the escalators in John Lewis - all those wonderful smokey- grey glass baubles and red velvet door wreaths… very tempting!

POSH PLANTS, A NEW AND GROWING BUSINESS, CAN OFFER THE ANTIDOTE TO THE PLASTIC CHRISTMAS

Talking of things to tempt us, this Christmas Posh Plants are doing their best in their gorgeous, glorious greenery. At this time of year plastic and tacky is all too visible. Our homes can easily become crammed with artificial trees, surrounded by massed planting of annual gifts that will mostly be forgotten in a few months.

Posh Plants, a new and growing (sorry about the pun!) business, can offer the antidote to the plastic Christmas. A real Christmas tree is essential, and I hope I will always have one in the house. But let’s think about outside for a moment. At this time of year we tend to invite friends and relatives over, so we want our front doors to offer a warm welcome as our guests approach.

Posh Plants offer stunning topiary. Outside the front door, a pair of lollipop shaped holly or bay trees in classic Chelsea planters can give an air of style and sophistication. A pair of golden spirals decorated with twinkling fairy lights will make any front garden simply magical on a frosty, moonlit evening.

Posh Plants also offer beautiful interior delights. Delivered to the door on Christmas Eve, and already planted in self-watering containers, this has got to

be the ultimate gift for the person who has everything! Interior plants can range from Sansevierias to Dracaenas in sizes from 40cm high Bonsai Ficus to 3m high

Kentia Palm – you may need a barn conversion for one of these!

Whatever the weather, try to forget the politicians and problems and have yourselves a very merry - but most importantly - a very green Christmas!

Posh Plants are available for hire (long and short term) and sale. Interior plant design - consultation visits to advise on getting the best from your home, conservatory or plant room. For more details contact Sue Huckle on 07703 347014 visit www.poshplants.com or email email sue@poshplants.com
