The month starts with a pre-Christmas treat as Northern Ballet bring The Nutcracker to Norwich Theatre Royal. From November 2 - 6, you can experience the delightful adventures of young Clara as she is swept away by the wooden Nutcracker doll to a magical wonderland of dancing snowflakes and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

An all-star cast brings the classic Agatha Christie play Witness to the Prosecution to the stage on November 8 - 13. Acclaimed by the critics for the twists and turns of its plot, the courtroom drama features a host of top actors, including Denis Lill (The Royal), Deborah Grant (Bergerac and Bouquet of Barbed Wire), Ben Nealon (Soldier Soldier) and Robert Duncan (Gus in Drop The Dead Donkey).

Don’t stop believing you can see a show featuring many of the hits from Glee. You can thanks to High School Rocks, which celebrates the hit TV show and features favourite tunes from High School Musical, Hannah Montana and Camp Rock on November 14.

Then, Glyndebourne Opera Company returns to Norwich Theatre Royal for its annual visit, bringing three spectacular productions. A new version of Mozart’s classic Don Giovanni takes to the stage on November 16 and 19, Sir Peter Hall directs Rossini’s retelling of Cinderella – La Cenerentola – on November 17 and 20, and Monteverdi’s final work exploring passionate forbidden love The Coronation of Poppea is performed on November 18.

The Globe Theatre brings its first large-scale tour to Norwich on November 23 - 27 when it presents The Merry Wives of Windsor. A huge sell- out success in London, the classic play, which is regarded by many as the forerunner of the sitcom, features a strong cast, including Serena Evans (Sergeant Darkins in The Thin Blue Line), and Gerard McCarthy (Kris in Hollyoaks).

The month then ends on November 28 with the return of the Britten Sinfonia, who present Mysteries of the Macabre, featuring world- renowned Canadian soprano Barbara Hannigan, closely followed by the arrival of the hit musical Chess, which is proving to be one of the winter’s hot tickets. Known for its soundtrack which includes I Know Him So Well and One Night In Bangkok, it runs from November 30 - December 4.

CHRISTIE DUNCAN

Christie Duncan is heading to Norwich Theatre Royal with fellow members of Northern Ballet to star in The Nutcracker, which runs from November 2 – 6.

What is your idea of perfect happiness? Being surrounded by family, drinking wine on a warm summer evening.

How do you relax? I like to take my mind off things by getting engrossed in a good book or film.

With which character or famous person do you most identify? I’d say Agatha Christie’s Poirot. Not that I’m Belgian, nor a detective, but I like everything to be neat, tidy and in its place, just as he does. I met him

recently when we opened Aylesbury Waterside Theatre – he’s one of my idols!
