the interest in the USHJA Hunter Derby, I figured why not create Derby's for the local level. Both Derby’s had $350.00 in prize money with $5.00 add backs, thanks to Equine Insurance and C.A Processing." "In addition to the Hunter Derby’s, L.A Saddlery kindly offered to sponsor the Flat Equitation Challenge with lots of great prizes, and Show Biz Magazine sponsored the Equitation Derby where Champion and Reserve both got half page ADs. good prizes, and
Pipkin, who also produced the show, added, "It’s been a while since we did a rated horse show and we figured if we were going to do it again, we were going to do it right. for the Classics, and large fancy 18” ribbons for all the other classes. We wound up with several dozen horses, and even more riders. Responses from the exhibitors ranged from Nancy Turrill sending a thank you note saying it felt like a party, Cyndi Merritt commented on Facebook that it had an old fashioned country horse show feel with the wel- come gifts. So many trainers that came to visit definitely will come back with their clients next year." Candy continued,
