Shalom!
This issue also features special ways to prepare for Chanukah, which begins at sundown on December 1. We’ll be celebrating this Feast in Jerusalem this year. What a privilege! Also known as the Feast of Dedication, Chanukah celebrates God’s deliverance of the courageous Maccabees, who trusted God to extend one day’s sanctified oil to burn for eight days when they recaptured the Temple in Jerusalem. I have an exciting announcement to make! In January 2011, Chosen Books, a division of Christian publishing giant, Baker Publishing Group of Grand Rapids, Michigan, will release my new book, A Rabbi Looks at Jesus of Nazareth, worldwide. Look for opportunities to obtain your own copy by pre-ordering for January 2011 delivery. Finally, I take this opportunity
to pray over you—that the grace and peace of Yeshua Himself be with you during this glorious season of new life and light. May your actions be prompted by love and your strength be inspired by hope in our Messiah.
Shalom,
FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear JVMI Partner and Friend, Is it as hard for you to fathom as it is for me that 2010 is quickly coming to a close and we are on the cusp of yet another
new year, developing even more strategies to reach out to still more of the lost sheep of Israel and the nations? The entire Jewish Voice team of staff and volunteers is so grateful to God and to you for the great harvest that we have been privileged to witness in 2010. What a year it has been! What a busy season of travel we have seen in just these last 90 days! Our international Hear O’ Israel! Festival of Jewish Music & Dance of 2010 was warmly received by nearly 9,000 Christians
and Jews in the exquisitely beautiful South American city of Montevideo, Uruguay. We hosted a total of five performances featuring our beloved friends, Messianic singer and songwriter Paul Wilbur, anointed violinist Dr. Maurice Sklar, and Messianic dancer Oksana Pavlova. I was privileged to present the Gospel message and lead nearly 250 individuals to salvation, 49 of whom were Jewish. We are rejoicing in this special harvest of souls! We have just returned home from Gondar, Ethiopia where our selfless team of medical, dental, and optical professionals
saw thousands of patients. Signs and miracles followed in the Prayer Room, where many received Yeshua as their Messiah and also experienced a supernatural touch from the King of kings and Lord of lords that brought healing to their bodies! Israel, here we come! Our ten-day “A Rabbi Looks at Israel” tour begins in about a month. We are so grateful to again have the opportunity to introduce our dear friends and partners to the exact locations where Yeshua (Jesus) walked, to join with them in meditating at the empty tomb, and share a meal of fish and loaves by the Sea of Galilee. I love Israel, and as a partner and friend of Jewish Voice, I know that you do too! As you read through this special issue of Jewish Voice Today, highlighting sensitive and practical ways that
you can share Yeshua with unbelievers, my prayer is that God will pour out His Spirit upon you and make you forerunners in bringing the Gospel to the Jewish People and educating the Church about God’s faithfulness and plan for the redemption of Israel in the last days.
