The SAC is a


Due to the complicated political situation in Gaza Strip, youth are facing difficulties in expressing their emotions and opinions about big and small things in their daily lives. The Social Arts Centre will provide a space for youth self-expression and in addition to that, we will work to improve the youth’s skills, both artistic and personal, in order to be able to live a better life as we have been dreaming of since we opened our eyes for the first time. For us the SAC is a dream coming true. Ayman Mghamis, 25, centre coordinator.


THE SOCIAL ARTS CENTRE. The SAC is a place for creativity, musicality, movement and other kind of youth self- expressions and social arts. A series of activities are already planned for the first six months, including workshops in dabbka, a traditional Palestinian dance, and breakdance. The SAC will also open a documentary club, where relevant documentaries will be screened and discussed. In addition to the creative workshops, there will also be a recording studio, so it will be possible for young people to record songs. Hip hop is an important element in the SAC and workshops in rap and graffiti will be offered for its members. The SAC will open in October! The projects is sponsored by Forenignen Roskilde Festival and the Danish Centre for Culture and Development.
