Not Quite ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’!
Y
ou’ve seen the anonymous answers given via hand-held voting pads on that famous
‘Millionaire’ programme. Now the RAF Families Federation are using the same technology to find out what you think about the RAF lifestyle and how you would like it changed. Sorry, no prize money but what price the chance to influence change?
We aim to capture your views and opinions, without anyone even seeing you put your hand up or listening in on what you have to say. The new workshops have a large fun element and the team will be bringing them onto Stations this Summer.
Family members, including partners, single parents, divorced and separated personnel, are all encouraged to go along to the workshops, relax and answer multiple-choice questions on family-related issues such as: Operational Tempo and Mobility; Quarters and Private Housing; Pay and Finances; Education and Childcare; Employment Opportunities for Service
Families; Medical and Dental; Unmarried Couples and Lone Parents.
The plea from the Federation is that if you have a view on any of these subjects, attend one of the workshops and tell the team what you think. The 2009 workshop dates and venues are:
Lossiemouth Brize Norton Honington Odiham Halton
Leuchars Benson Leeming
St Mawgan Abbey Wood Valley
Lyneham Waddington

Once the team has analysed the results, they will feed your evidence into senior staffs, including Ministers and ministerial groups, MOD staffs, Defence Estates, the Armed Forces Pay Review Body and RAF policy staffs. The RAF has people at the top of its agenda and the senior staffs are listening. So now is
the time to take your conversations away from the tea bars and coffee shops and make your views known to the RAF Families Federation. Our mission is to represent your views, independently, confidentially and professionally to those who can make a difference.
Two New Guys Join the Team – and one is ex Navy!
T
he Federation is delighted to announce the arrival of two new members of staff who
are well qualified and will contribute much to the Federation work. Nick will work alongside Ann on the Communications side of the house and Andy will work alongside Jenny on Issues. Unintentionally, we now have a completely balanced team of four males and four females although how we are going to reconcile the Navy input we’re not sure, even if his last tour was at Cottesmore as part of Joint Force Harrier…
