Oracle works to advance education with state-of-the-art technology programs and to prepare students for life and work in the 21st century. In 2008, Oracle and the Oracle Education Foundation supported more than 1.2 million students in 95 countries through the Oracle Academy and ThinkQuest. During this same year, Oracle also granted software, curriculum, and teacher training valued at U.S. $2.1 billion to over 4,400 schools.
In the United States, Oracle and the Oracle Education Foundation supported more than 172,000 students, in over 3,700 schools through the Oracle Academy and ThinkQuest programs.

Oracle Education Foundation The Oracle Education Foundation is a nonprofi t organization funded by Oracle. Its mission is to help students develop the skills needed for success in the 21st century, such as teamwork, critical thinking, and technology skills.
The Foundation delivers ThinkQuest—a widely acclaimed education technology program—to K-12 schools globally, reaching 405,000 students and teachers in 43 countries each year. ThinkQuest is a
protected, online learning platform that enables students to develop critical 21st century skills. It includes:
ThinkQuest Projects: A project environment where teachers and students engage in collaborative learning.
ThinkQuest Competition: A competition space where students participate in global narrative and Website development contests.
ThinkQuest Library: An award-winning learning resource visited by millions.
ThinkQuest Professional Development: A comprehensive training offering for educators.
