Connecting Kettering with the rest of the UK and Europe
Kettering benefi ts from excellent road and rail links to the rest of the Country and is ideally located in the centre of England.
On the Midland Mainline route Kettering is less than an hour away from London St. Pancras making it the ideal location for both business headquarters and regional offi ces not to mention London commuters. Kettering Borough Council is working with partners such as Network Rail to develop and attract investors to bring forward plans for the Station Quarter of the town.
Such proposals include: improving the public space connectivity to the town centre, a short walk from the station; building up to 250,000 square feet of additional high quality prime offi ce space adjacent to the station; increased parking provision for station users; improving bus connections to other parts of the town and to visitor attractions such as Wicksteed Park.
The aggressive pursuit in fi nding development partners for increasing high grade offi ce fl oor space in the Station Quarter is part of the town’s plan in attracting higher grade, higher density jobs.
These improvements to the Station Quarter will go hand in hand with a new Transportation Strategy developed for the town centre which has been strongly supported in recent consultations with retailers and businesses.
