Four area 2010 high school graduates, including Voorhees resident Mohit Thakur, were each awarded $2,000 scholarships recently by the Kennedy Health System’s Laurel Auxiliary. The students, junior vol- unteers at Kennedy University Hospital, plan to pursue careers in health care. Pictured at the awards ceremony are, from left: Kennedy Volunteers Manager Lisa Fedorick; Auxilian Betty Ward; Blackwood resident Sukhpal Singh (St. Augustine Prep), who plans to attend New York University for Pre- Profes- sional Health; Thakur (Eastern Regional High School), who will participate in a 7-year BS/MD program at The College of New Jersey; and Kennedy Development Manager Kelly Hageman. Recipients missing from photo: Voorhees residents/Eastern High School 2010 graduates Joanna Hale, who will attend Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md., for clinical psychology; and Pallav Shah, who will study pharmacy at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
