Concrete plant meeting Te North Buncombe Association of Concerned Citizens will be hold-
ing a meeting from at 7:30 pm on Monday (May 17) to discuss the upcom- ing air quality permit hearing for Blue Ridge Concrete. It will be held at the new event meeting center at Claxton Farm. Drinks
will be provided and guests may bring a dessert to share. Te developers have been granted all permits to begin construction of
a concrete plant at the corner of Murphy Hill Road and Old Mars Hill Highway in Flat Creek. Te air quality permit will allow for the mixing of concrete. A public hearing on the permit will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm on May 26 at North Buncombe High School.
Papers look for interns Te Weaverville Tribune/Leicester Leader will be accepting interns this
summer. Graduating high school seniors and college students with an interest in community journalism will be considered. Interns will work one-on-one with the editor in a variety of capacities and be asked to write and photograph their own stories. Interns will be paid hourly up to 10 hours per week. Some weekend
or night assignments may be included. Computing and writing skills are required. Access to a digital camera
