Arthritis and Pets Many older dogs and some younger
ones develop pain associated with osteoarthritis. Larger dogs are most susceptible but any size or breed could be at risk. Early signs include difficulty ris- ing and a hesitancy to jump up onto the couch or bed or into the car. Dogs with these symptoms are feeling pain. Tere are many treatment options and life style changes that can both slow the progres- sion of arthritis and greatly improve your pet’s quality of life by controlling pain. If your dog is showing the signs of arthritis, please call your veterinarian to set up an examination today. Cats can also develop arthritis and may be helped with supple- ments or medication.

process to say whether the Weaver- ville location will be another Jack of the Wood or an independent enterprise, but he envisions a space that brings together quality beer with good food and live music. “We are looking at a community
gathering place,” he said. Te restaurant would be located
at the front portion of the renovat- ed building. Accornero, who purchased the
space from the town last year, has been hard at work bringing back some of the space’s original ele- ments and adding new architec- tural flourishes. He and his construction crew
are in the process of attempting to rehabilitate some of the structure’s original brick. Accornero also has about 7,000 bricks from the Enka plant that was demolished in 2007 for design purposes. In addition to the possibility of
the restaurant, the developer has several ideas for the rest of the up- stairs space, including an artists’ gallery or a workout facility. Te downstairs will be three of-
fice space units. Accornero is thrilled with the
progression so far and the possibili- ties a new commercial venture in downtown Weaverville could hold. “Tere is not enough in Weaver-
ville for people to spend their day. Tis is trying to change that,” he said.
